It is shown that polymer based solid lubricant coatings with MoS2 preserve low values of the friction coefficient and long wear life in the cryogenic environments. Under the low temperatures diamond-like carbon coatings possess relatively high value of the friction coefficient together with an extremely high wear resistance. Wear surface formation peculiarities are studied. It is shown that the investigated coatings are promising to serve the purpose of the lowering of the friction coefficients and/or wear in cryogenic friction units.
