Object of the research is the graphite ГРП-2-125 of the Chornobyl NPP Unit 2 reactor. Subjects of the research are the nuclides being beta and gamma emitters, contained in the graphite ГРП-2-125, the above-mentioned graphite preceding and following porosity. The work objective is to define experimentally the graphite ГРП-2-125 activity of the Chornobyl NPP Unit 2 reactor and to study the graphite ГРП-2-125 porosity. Content of the following Н-3, C-14, Cl-36, Ca-41, Fe-55, Ni-59, Ni-63, Co-60, Sr-90, Nb-93m, Ag-108, Ba-133, Cs-134, 137, Eu-154, 155 isotopes in the graphite ГРП-2-125 was measured during this experiment. The obtained results were compared to the designed and available data. Set of regularities and correlations in the content of various radionuclides in the graphite was determined. The measurement of graphite porosity preceding and following the irradiation was carried out. Set of new procedures withobjective to determine the Sr-90 content and the graphite porosity was developed. Recommendations on the following research of graphite contamination at the ChNPP site were issued. Beta, gamma and X-ray spectrometry, beta radiometry, radiochemistry and scanning electron microscopy were used as the method of research.
