Condition of weld metal alloying and re(uirements for welding consumables ere established. Processes of microstructure formation in weld metal and in HAZ are found out. Low -hydrogen electrodes for arc manual welding, flux cored wire and synthetic flux for mechanized welding were elaborated . Procedures for 9 % chromiym steel structures welding are developed. Implementation of the new steel and technology of it's welding is anticipated to lower sufficiently steam pipe wall thickness, to elevate steam working pressure and efficiency in 4-6 %.
