It has been established, that CdS, ZnO, TiO2 nanoparticles as well as CdS/ZnO heterostructure act as efficient photoinitiators of buthylmethacrylate free-radical polymerization in 2-propanol. It has been shown, that photocatalytic activit of CdS/ZnO nanoheterostructure in the reaction under investigation is more pronounced than that of individual CdS and ZnO nanoparticles as well as their mixtures. It has been established that fluorescein and a series of its halogenated derivatives are efficient sensitizers of ZnO nanoparticles to the light of visible spectral region. The basic kinetic reguliarities of buthylmethacrylate photopolymerization at the irradiation with the visible light have been determined.
