The goal of the work: investigating dimedone as an analytical reagent for determination of cadmium and mercury (I) ions. Reactions of interactions of dimedone with cadmium and mercury (I) ions have been investigated. Optimal pH values for the interactions of dimedone with the determined components are evaluated. The frequencies of detection of cadmium and mercury (I) ions together with auxiliary functions for graphical examination of the kind of probability distribution have been evaluated. It is shown that the ensemble of the experimentally obtained points satisfactorily corresponds to the lognormal distribution.
