The main idea is that structural elements, that form ability to initiate searching for ways of possible difficulties solving and prognosis of possible consequences of decision-making, are added to the standard scheme of engineer training in an institute of higher education. The latter requires theoretical knowledge obtained during lections and from textbooks to be revised in practice in training laboratories. The novelty lays in the theoretical basis for search for optimal ratio between routine and creative in the engineer disciplines teaching methodology. It is based on the laboratory training contents analysis for the key engineer specialties, determination of creative search in the different knowledge areas, creation of concrete technical and scientific problems solving methodology in the different areas of engineering and their efficiency analysis.
