On the basis of observation of 56 patients it was shown that the principal reasons of speech violations after uranoplasty is functional wealening 0f the soft palate and back wall of the throat. This aspect should be taken into concideration when choosing an operative method of the velopharyngeal insufficiency removal. Assence of positive dynamics in renewal of speech after the reconstraction of the basic anatomic structures in all cases was accompaniet by diffuse changes of different structures of nervous system.
