Aim of study : To create the brain stroke register on Kharkov , Sumy , Ivano-Francovsk model for elaborations and carrying out the treatment - prophylactic measures . Methods of study : Epidemiological , statistic . During 2002-2003 it was carried out of the standardized epidemiological study the BS register on international level . The BS disease in Kharkov in 2002 came to 276,2 on 100 thousands of population, in 2003 - 241,4 on 100 thousands of population . The correlation ischemic stroke to hemorrhagic stroke came to 3:1 (2002), 4:1 (2003). With BS disease hospitalizes 57% of patients and only some of them at first six hours are sick (13%). The more often cases of stroke are in aged (76,5%). The number of women's stroke in 1,2 (2002) -1,3 (2003) times more than in menthe mortality from stroke in 2002 came to 95,4 on 100 thousands of population. The most part of the diseased belong to aged (79,2%).The total lethality from BS in city came to 34,5% (2002), 32,8% (2003). The main risk factors of BS in Kharkov are: arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, hypercholesterolemia, psychoemotional load, alcohol abuse . The epidemiological indices of BS were lower than official data . It was carried out the analysis of epidemiological indices of BS on regions .These clinico-epidemiological studies get on the background measures for the better epidemiological situation on cerebrovasculare diseases (CVD) as in Kharkov and in Ukraine too.
