The proposed theoretical model determines the application limits of a 2-wave approximation and allows calculate еру amplitude of spatial harmonics of refractive index through values of diffraction efficiency on the prime and multiple Bragg angles. The optical parameters of transmission holographic gratings on the base PHM-488 and its modification are studied at the thickness variation from 20 up to 1000mkm and the applicability for their analysis of 2-coupled wave model is proved. Application of the thick transmission gratings as light polarizer and highly efficient of light selectors in laser cavities are shown.
