An aim of the work - investigation of the state of populations and separate species of vertebrates of Ukraine, which are background in ecosystems of different natural zones of Ukraine, at territories with different level of anthropogenic influence, tendentions of the development in modern conditions and analyses of phenomena and processes, occuring in fauna of Ukraine. The work was realised with standard methods used in ecological and faunistical investigations, with statistical methods, with mapping together with elements of GIS. Results of the investigations may be used for the optimization of econet and for conservation of the biodiversity of Ukraine, in environmental management of the territories, including renaturallization of stressed ecosystems, for organization of new reserved areas, for foreseeing of natural phenomena, which are important for man (e.g. - distribution of ozoonose infections, etc.) and for analitic investigations of histrorical changes in faunistical complexes in the future.
