AD). The purpose consists in creation of the ethnic history concept of the region. The dynamic model of mutual influence and confrontation of ethnic groups is made on the basis of archaeological relics. It is proved that ecological (natural) conditions of Great steppe borderland had the determining influence on forming here different multiethnic communities and the institute of Cossacks. Relics of Cossack time from the XVI to the beginning of the XVIII c. are investigated. The results of this investigation are introduced into the educational process and included into basic researches.
