A computer database is prepared on health status of pregnant women, conditions and risk factors for anemia in pregnancy, distinctive features of pregnancy course, labor, delivery and health status of newborns among women with anemia in pregnancy and women from group of comparison. Medical and social measures are developed on prevention of anemia in pregnancy and its complication. It is been confirmed, that iron-deficiency anemia of pregnant negatively influence gestational process course and worsen conditions of fetus development. Pregnancy course is complicated on early stages of embryonic and placental genesis by threat of pregnancy termination and gestosis. As confirmed, early anemia of pregnant (taking place in first trimester of pregnancy) has especially negative influence on pregnancy course, natal and postnatal periods, contributes to increasing of frequency of pregnancy complications, negatively affects timely formation of lactation process, has negative effect on health status of newborns. Risk factors of anemia in pregnancy are determined. Study results prove an expediency of iron level measurement in blood serum as routine procedure during registration of every pregnant woman. A technology of early active preventive measures for anemia in pregnancy and its complications was developed and pilot tested. It stipulates for gratis supplement of all pregnant women by iron-bearing medications at the expense of local budgets and its prescription in differential order depending on intensity of iron deficiency (according to level of iron in blood serum and hemoglobin index).
