This substances were dehydrogenated upon heating with elementary sulphur in DMF solution and 4-aryl- and 4-hetarylimidazo[4.5-c]pyridines and 4-aryl- and 4-hetarylimidazo[4.5-c]pyridine-6-carboxylic acids were synthesized because this process proceeds with oxidizing decarboxylation. The decarboxylation of 4-aryl- and 4-hetarylimidazo[4.5-c]pyridine-6-carboxylic acids proceeds in quinoline with copper powder, leads to 4-aryl- and 4-hetarylimidazo[4.5-c]pyridines.
