The purpose: a substantiation of apply of antidiabetic mean "Phensuccinal" in the treatment of type 2 diabetic patients on the base of pharmacodynamic features of this mean. Methods: clinical, biochemical, immunoenzymatic, tools. Application of phensuccinal is accompanied by improvement of the general health state of patients. The remedy increases low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, decreases proatherogenic beta-lipoproteins,non-esterified fatty acids, fructosamine levels and insulin resistance, shows antioxidant effect, does not show side action. The expediency of phensuccinal supplementation in the complex therapy of type 2 diabetes mellitus is substantiated. The protocol of stage ІІ clinical tests has been developed.
