The obtained equations describe coupled Alfven and slow magnetosonic modes with arbitrary polarization in the inner magnetosphere of the Earth. 3.To find the equilibrium charge on grains in near-Earth plasmas under night conditions we apply for the first time the discrete population balance method used earlier in solid state physics. We present the analytical solution of the equations giving the stationary charge distribution on grains in near-Earth plasma.
