Med. Sci Ukraine popup.description2 Toxic influence and pharmacological activity of Quercetin in medical form of pills for mastication has been investigated. It's been established that course introductions of Quercetin during animals' life didn't influence their average life expectancy that testifies to its harmlessness. The results show that introduction of Quercetin to rats with glucocorticoinduced osteoporosis caused moderated аntiresorbtive influenceе on a bone tissue and promoted preservation of mechanical durability of bones. Use of Quercetin in complex therapy of postmenopausal osteoporosis of rats-females with ovaries removed strengthened antiosteoporotic influence of calcium citrate and vitamin D3 and was more effective than use of basic means of treatment only under the same conditions. In the case of osteoartrosis of old rats, treated with indometacin, Quercetin reduced intensity of hemo-, hepatо-, nephro-, chondrotoxic effects of indometacin and prevented its ulcerogenic action. According to the results of the research work the patent (№u200610424 with a priority from 02.10.06) application has been submitted and the decision on its issuing has been received (N 34825 from 25.12.06).
