It has been shown the expedience of alfalfa seed inoculation with S. meliloti 441 for growing seminal alfalfa under drought conditions. The study of influence of seed and rhizobia treatment with lectin on alfalfa yield both under different water supply and inoculation S. meliloti 441 has been discovered that: the application of soybean lectin intensities processes of nodule formation, nitrogen fixation, plant growth in alfalfa-S. meliloti symbiotic systems, leads to increasing of chlorophyll and carotenoid content in leaves; the influence of treatment with soybean lectin on forming and functioning of alfalfa-S. meliloti symbiosis depend on way ofapplication, plant development phase and water supply; inoculation of alfalfa seed by rhizobia incubated with soybean lectin promotes decrease by 17 % of seed yield negative profit on account of drought.
