The diagnostic importance of serum markers of the atrophy of gastric mucosa such as pepsinogen-I and gastrin-17 was estimated. Correlation dependence between serum markers (pepsinogen-I and gastrin-17) and histological changes of gastric mucosa in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis type B was revealed. The influence of H.pylori eradication therapy and ascorbic acid treatment on morphological changes and the level of serum markers of atrophy in chronic atrophic gastritis type B were investigated.
