Introduction in the system 2- methylnaphthalene-ozone-acetic acid of acetate of cobalt (II) in an insignificant measure allows to prevent ozonization of aromatic ring, and only addition of bromide of alkaline metals allows to send a reaction toward oxidization of methyl group with formation of naphthalene acid. Using of the two-stage oxidization the ozonization connections of chrome and manganese allows to get 2-methyl-1,4-naphthaquinon and 5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthaquinon with a high output.
