There have been determined factors and consequences of the above mentioned crisis. The authors view on social investments and their classification by different criteria have been presented. Based on investments' distribution between different social sectors, the current situation in Ukraine in relation to investments has been analyzed. The scientific work has summarized international experience in this area and given practical recommendation for improving and developing system of social investment in Ukraine. The main priorities are as follows: maintaining and improving population health, family's support and improving conditions for childbearing, extending access to education and increasing its quality, migration regulation, social care for old people and formation a system of social services for vulnerable groups. In this research mechanism of social investmentand peculiarities of its functionalizing in our country versus international experience has been investigated.
