Therefore cord blood is suitable for transplantation purposes. Comparative analysis of the methods used for separation of the mononuclear cells from the cord blood indicated that Hystopaque gradient centrifugation is the most convenient method with the highest yield. It was also determined that incubation of the separated mononuclear cells wit Flt-3 growth factor has a pronounced effect on the quantitative and qualitative content of the cultured cells. Qualitative analysis of the obtained progenitor cells was used as a basis for stochastic mathematic model of hematopoiesis (in press).
