Two types of initial fibers were tested which differ in the thickness and the ordering degree of graphite-like structure. It was shown that during phase transformation "graphite>diamond" under shock compression only the fibers with thickness of about 200 nm preserved their initial morphology. Thinner fibers (nanotubes) destroyed completely under effect of shock waves. The diamond nanofibers were obtained for the first time under conditions of shock compression.
