The special attention is spared to the theologically ethics looks of founder of western christian theology and philosophy St. Augustine, to impact on modern catholic philosophy of Thomas Aquinas' scholastic ideas, to the pantheistic orientation of Nicholas of Cusa's metaphysical discourse and his actual significance. Theologically religious thought of new and modern time is presented by reformist reflections of Representatives of early Protestantism (M. Luther, U. Tsvinli, J. Calvin, T. Myuntser), the major figures and leading trends in Orthodox-Catholic dialogue of the second half of XVI - first half XVII century, Imanuil Kant's and Max Scheler's philosophically religious views. The current state of theology and religious studies is analyzed by the existence of three branches of Christianity, therefore is represented by the analysis of actual problems of each of the traditional denomination and its possible solutions. The prospects of religious education in Ukraine and its role in society is also considered. The authors of the research not only analyzed the identified problems at the theoretical level, but also tried to make some conclusions on the empirical, that is the practical level. It will enable their usage not only in scientific researches, but also in teaching theological and religious courses in universities and in having constructive interfaith dialogue.
