On Stage 1 the needs were identified to enhance the safety in use of linear accelerators which are conditioned by incompliance of the existing regulatory framework with the current level of the requirements and recommendations in this area. The provisions of the national and international documents were specified. These provisions shall be the basis for the safety requirements to be established for the use of linear accelerators. The compliace with these requirements will allow the licensee to ensure appropriate and adequate radiation protection level in this area.
