Aim of the work: the creation of EuS-SrS superlattices with thin (down to 1 nm) monocrystalline layers and detection of the possibility of magnetic layer interaction via non-magnetic insulated spacers. Investigation methods: electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, neutron reflectometry, SQUID-magnetometry. Theoretical and practical results: The monocrystalline multilayers - superlattices EuS-SrS with layer thickness from 1 till 20 nm was synthesized by using the method of thermal evaporation and vacuum condensation. The investigation of EuS-SrS superlattices, in which the layers of ferromagnetic wide-gap semiconductor EuS (Eg =1.65 eV) was separated by spacers of nonmagnetic dielectric SrS (Eg = 4.1 eV), was made using SQUID-magnetometry and neutron scattering. Novelty: The antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling of magnetic EuS layers via non-magnetic SrS spacers was found. Such coupling was observed for SrS spacer thicknesses from 0,7 nm to 2 nm.
