Research object - material science of thermoelectric structures. Research subject - anisotropic and segmented thermoelectric structures for new types of thermoelements and the electric power and cold sources on their basis. Work purpose - creation of efficient anisotropic and segmented thermoelectric structures for new types of eddy thermoelements and generator and cooling modules. Research methods - methods of nonequilibrium thermodynamics of irreversible processes of energy and electric charge transport in thermoelectric materials; physical experiment. As a result of the work execution, efficiency criteria of artificially anisotropic and gyrotropic materials for thermal into electric energy converters are established. It is shown that the efficiency of layered artificially anisotropic thermoelements has a multi-parameter optimum depending on the kinetic coefficients of layer materials, geometry and orientation of layers in thermoelement. Conditions of maximum efficiency in the region of mixed conductivity at doping with acceptor impurities are revealed for gyrotropic semiconductor materials. For segmented thermoelectric structures optimum efficiency is established depending on chemical composition of Bi-Te based materials. Instruments and devices with optimized anisotropic and segmented thermoelectric structures outperform considerably parameters of the best foreign counterparts elaborated, in particular at Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, RAS (Russia), Sensor und Lasertechnik (Germany), Research Triangle Institute (USA). The work results are applied in "Altec-M" company.
