The subject of research is the systems of thermocontrol on the basis of heat pipes of variable resistance, which are used for providing of the thermal modes of scientific board instruments. The purpose of scientific and research work is investigation and improvement of the heat pipes thermocontrol systems with metal felt and other perspective types of capillary structures. Research methods were the methods of theoretical analysis, experimental testing and computer modelling. As a result of implementation of this work the scientific base for development of the thermocontrol systems on heat pipes of variable resistance for autonomous scientific apparatus is created. A new thermal concept of creation of effective thermocontrol system of electronic devices, which uses only own heat generation of the device for function and allows to narrow a range of temperature change of the device to 5 - 10 K at the temperature level of 290 K at change of heat generation in 10 times and the temperature of mounting places 253 - 323 K at external thermal loadings up to 270 W/m2, is offered and checked experimentally. The new thermal design of the passive radiation thermocontrol system for cooling from one to four charge couple devices of the scientific optical systems at the temperature level of 213 - 243 K is also created. By means of developed programs and methods the ground testing of thermocontrol systems is conducted according to the European quality standard PSS - 49. With the use of the elaborated mathematical algorithm the results of 9-year exploitation on the near-Earth orbit of the thermocontrol system on NTUU "KPI" heat pipes on German microsatellite BIRD are generalized. A novelty and scientific value of the work consist in creation of new thermally expedient schemes of the passive thermocontrol systems on heat pipes of variable resistance for the scientific equipment of small spacecrafts on the basis of research of heat exchange processes, analysis of space influence and requirements to function of equipment. The results of the work are intended for the use in a space instrument-making: near-Earth communications satellites, automatic stations for research of near-Earth space, satellites of sounding of Earth surface and deep space.
