Given the fundamental criteria for preservation of forest biodiversity, representative and effective system of territorial protection and conservation of forest biodiversity should be based on areas of priority for regional conservation of forest biodiversity - the least anthropogenically transformed and as a territorially intact forests within which the main area of rare, threatened and endangered forest ecosystems most large tracts of old-growth stands of natural origin, locations of rare, endangered, endemic and endangered species of flora and fauna; viable populations of key native species, representative sections of all types of forest ecosystems in the region. Given the peculiarities of national environmental legislation, it should also include areas and sites of natural reserve fund, which network in the Lesser Polesie Lviv needs considerable improvement.
