The purpose of the study - improving the theoretical basis, development of methodological approaches and practical recommendations for resource maintenance in the knowledge management system. Methods of research - structural and logical analysis, formalization and comparison, analysis and synthesis, systematic approach, statistical analysis, the method of expert evaluations, logic simulation and synthesis. During the work on the theme, we have got the results, which enclose the improving of the theoretical approaches, the formation of the complex methodological tools and the developing of practical recommendations for implementing knowledge management system in the industrial enterprises and organizations. The obtained results can be recommended to the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in purpose to use them in the preparation of specialists in the sphere of innovation management, and also to businesses and organizations of engineering and gas industry of Ukraine and some of them for each of the domestic enterprises.
