The aim of the work is to collect the infrared spectra library of diamonds that would allow quickening the determination of origin of diamonds, their genetic characteristics and synthetic analogues on the basis of comparing of the sample's spectrum on question to the data library. The method of the research is the infrared (ІR-Fourier) spectroscopy. The methodologies of the research are the collection of experimental data, systematization of the diamonds infrared spectra, formation of the reference electronic database. The reference database of the diamonds infrared spectra is created on the basis of the spectroscopic data during the reporting period. Within the framework of the ІR-Fourier spectroscopy research the genetic types of diamonds (Іа, ІІа, ІІb) and their synthetic analogues have been revealed. The results of the work can be applied for the complicated scientific gemological expertise.
