Aim of research is to investi-gate peculiarities of growth, development and intraspecific competition depend-ing on the system of fertilization, sowing rates, density of maize hybrid standing in pure and mixed sowings with amaranth when it is grown for fodder purposes. Methods of research are laboratory, field and analytical. Growing technology of maize hybrids of different ripeness for silage that demands sowing density of 90 thousand and row width of 45 cm to provide 67,0 t/ha of maize green mass with prime cost 1 t 79,7 grn is worked out. Technology of maize cultivation in mixed sowings with amaranth that demands additional sowing into maize interrow space of one row of amaranth to provide harvesting of 69,0 t/ha of green mass, 14,5 t/ha of dry matter and 1,4 t/ha of crude protein with prime cost of 1 t of green mass 83,0 grn is developed. Novelty of the work is that for the first time in conditions of the rightbank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine influence of sowing rates, sowing density and rates of mineral fertilizers on the indices of fodder productivity of maize hybrids of different ripeness is determined. Peculiarities of intraspecific competition, growth, development, formation of the yield and its quality when sowing amaranth additionally into maize interrow space are determined. Introduction of these researches provides high yields of green mass and costs reduction by 15-20%. These investigations are recommended for the use in the branch of field fodder production.
