The research goal is to create a method of indirect determination of both geometrical and electrical parameters of a plane layered structure starting from frequency dependence of reflection coefficient for plane electromagnetic waves. Been based on an exact solution of inverse scattering problem, this method would allow to expand functional (operational) capacities of nondestructive evaluation devices. Peculiarity of this method consists in ability to reconstruct discontinuous profile of permittivity of a layered structure, in which each layer could have inhomogeneous change of the permittivity between interfaces. Methods of the research include ones from such theories as complex variables theory, differential equation, statistical evaluation and numerical analysis. Results of the research are directed on creation fundamentals of measurements data processing in ultra-high frequency devices for nondestructive evaluation of layered structures. Particularly, a method for reconstruction of plane dielectric layered media, which have interfaces between inhomogeneous layers, has been elaborated. Initial data for the inverse problem is complex values of reflection coefficient of plane electromagnetic wave, which is defined in a limited bandwidth. Another method for determination of permittivity and width of homogeneous dielectric layers in layered structures has been also created. Possibility to solve the inverse problem has been shown for partly defined initial data, namely for absolute values of refection coefficient of plane electromagnetic waves.
