The tests carried out showed that the replacement of the electrodes of Cr18Ni10Ti steel by the surface-modified bimetallic bipolar electrodes and the application of an asbestos cloth as diaphragm between the cathode and anode chambers of the electrolyzer leads to the significant decreasing in voltage at the electrolyzer terminals.
