Purpose: To improve the methods of prevention and treatment of skin radiation lesions using photomatrix therapy with optic range photons generated by light diodes. Methods: Clinical, biochemical, histological, electron microscopy, instrumental, statistical. Results and their novelty: For the first time, it was established that red and blue light and their consecutive application are effective in prevention or minimizing radiation lesions in the rats with local irradiation of 80.0 Gy. Photomodulation in the irradiated area of the rat skin promoted reduction of the number of local radiation lesions, reduced the terms of healing, improved the course. The clinical investigation demonstrated that photomodulation (blue light) reduced severity of radiation induced skin reactions when compared with the controls, in which the lesions were registered in 80% of the patients. In patients with photomodulation, the manifestations of hyperemia, edemas, disappeared on day 30, discomfort reduced, skin effects disappeared earlier. It was show that photomodulation normalized LP, activated antioxidant blood enzymes, reduced endotoxemia, etc. Degree of introduction: 8 abstracts, 5 articles, one patent, one information letter were published.
