The work purpose is development of the R-functions theory to solve new classes of problems of nonlinear dynamics of plates and shallow shells. Research methods are based on the combined use of the R-functions theory and variational methods. For the integration of the initial Cauchy problem in time a numerical method of Runge-Kutta methods and stability theory of motion are used. To investigate forced oscillations of a rotor system a procedure, that combines the construction of nonlinear normal modes of vibration in the form of show-Pierre, a modified method of Rauscher and other procedures, is proposed. The proposed methods, algorithms and software are applied to study the following problems: non-linear free vibrations of multilayer shells, parametric vibrations of orthotropic plates under periodic loads in the middle plane, finding the zones of stability (instability) of the forms of nonlinear vibrations of multilayer shallow shells and the study of the dynamics of rotor systems. Practical value. Created a knowledge base and software can be used to develop automated programming systems, as well as to study the dynamic behavior of plates and shallow shells of complex shape in the plan when designing real structures. The results are used in scientific research, partly embedded in the learning process. Numerical results can be used by engineers in calculating the strength of the elements of thin-walled structures that are modeled laminated plates and shallow shells open.
