Global database on protists diversity was constructed. Meta-analysis of the database was realized. It was found that the species diversity of protists in mesoscale and macroscale depend on the opportunities of communities at the expense of intracoenotic mechanisms. On the contrary in microscale and megascale the species diversity depend on the degree of biotope and region differentiation.
