Extraction process was controlled by UV-spectroscopy method. In our work was shown that extraction depends on aggregates formation. Was found that fullerene is extracted in hexane phase as monomer. It strongly evidences that the disaggregation in the system C60/NMP/water is a result of detachment of individual fullerene molecules from large aggregates, which initiates the extraction. Its reasonable explanation is that fullerene molecules form donor-acceptor complexes with NMP, which are soluble in the mixture NMP/water. Such complexes are stable in water. It should be mentioned that the formation of donor-acceptor complexes was previously assumed to be responsible for the temporal solvatochromism in C60/NMP (change in the solution color from mauve to brownish yellow), namely the interaction of C60 with NMP changes in time, thus resulting in variation of UV-Vis spectra.
