The purpose – to analyse a state of the domestic seed production organisation, to develop scientifically-proved aspects of seed standardization and certification of agricultural crops. Methods – laboratory, field, statistical.Results: phytotoxicity and efficiency of action of many protectants, biological products, growth regulators have been determined. It was found that realisation of yield potential to a greater extent depends on the soil-climatic conditions than on agrotechnical practices.A new concept of seed standardization is suggested where the differentiation of seed separation is based not on the classes of sowing standards and categories of variety purity, but on the seed production stages. A patent search of the existing standards for the purpose of their harmonisation with the best world standards was made. Introduction: nine national seed production standards have been developed, the version of State Standards of Ukraine 2240 and 2949 has been improved, recommendations on conducting the seed control at seed production farms, and on organization of seed production in Ukraine are given.
