For this reason, their direct physical study was largely unsuccessful. This also applies to the construction of empirical models. Thus, different methods were applied to this problem. These methods treat the magnetosphere as a "black box" with a number of input and output parameters and try to connect these parameters using different mathematical methods. All of them, though, have a common feature: at a certain stage they lead to a construction of a regression relationship between one of output parameters and some set of input parameters. So it seems logical to omit all the preliminary stages and start constructing the regression relationship at once. This idea forms the backbone of the proposed method.
