Purpose of the research – To work out recommendations as to treatment of thyroid microcarcinoma by means of investigation of the peculiarities of its course and comparison of the long-term results of different variants of antitumor therapy with radioiodine and without it. Methods of research and equipment – clinical, dosimetry, radionuclide, ultrasound scanning, computed tomography, x-ray, histology, statistical analysis. Results and their novelty – For the first time, incidence of thyroid carcinoma among other thyroid cancers was established by the example of the database of Institute of medical radiology, which makes 8.5 %. It was established that by gender and age, histology characteristics and morphological features of aggression, microcancer did not differ from tumors measuring 1.1 – 4.0 cm. considering the peculiarities of the clinical course and factors of tumor aggression in thyroid carcinoma, the indications and contraindications for radioiodine therapy were worked out for patients with thyroid carcinoma. It was proven that patients with microcarcinoma without the signs of aggression required radioiodine therapy and do not demonstrate the signs of relapse or continuation of the tumor process for 1-10 years. The tasks of individual dosimetry planning of thyroid microcarcinoma, promoting ablation of thyroid remnants in the shortest terms adhering to the margins of the permissible absorbed doses to the red bone marrow, were solved. New methods of early diagnosis of thyroid microcancer were developed, the indications for radioiodine therapy for thyroid microcarcinoma and radionuclide diagnosis of regional and distant metastases of thyroid cancer, which allow timely administration of anti-relapse therapy and imprudent of the quality of life of the patients, were worked out. Degree of introduction – Two articles and 3 abstracts were published, 4 presentations were made, 1 patent was obtained, and 2 applications for a patent were prepared.
