Purpose of researches - to conduct a complex estimation and educe economic, selection and genetic originality of local and vanishing breeds of agricultural animals on the South of Ukraine; to create new gene pool objects and increase the quantity of population of cattle, sheep and pigs. Research methods - zootechnic, genetic-population, microscopic, immunogenetic, serum, electrophoretic, biometrical statistics with the use of the computer and programmatic providing. With the use of different methodical approaches the evaluation of productive qualities, genotypes variety of populations is conducted, description of existent gene pool with application of molecular-genetic methods is brought. Methodology of the selection-genetic monitoring of gene pools herds of South region of Ukraine, which foresees the analysis of genealogical structure, genetic potential on the indexes of the productivity and degree of its realization, determination of level of consolidation of structure unite, gene-population and ecology-genetic parameters is worked out. Existing is improved and the new methods of the complex use of molecular-genetic markers, which provide of long duration avoidance of interbreed depression in little numeral closed populations of cattle, sheep and pigs are worked out. The gene pool herds of cattle (9), sheep (15) and pigs (2) are created in the farms of Donetsk, Odessa, Kherson areas and AR of Crimea. The animals of new created herds exceed the standards of breeds after the productivity on 5-12%. It is formed criobank of sperms and embryos of sheep of South region of Ukraine, where kept 620 spermdoses of rams of Ascanian Meet breed, 460 spermdoses and 29 embryos of rams of Ascanian Merino breed; spermbank in Ukrainian-German Pedigree Enterprise "Ascania-Genetic", in which the 41,1 thousand doses of sperm of bulls of genealogical lines of Shamrin ХУ- 41, Petushok 191-У the Grey Ukrainian breed of cattle; spermbank of Red Steppe cattle - 1748 thousand dose, bank of data in relation to polymorphism of DNA of valuable genotypes of the Ukrainian Steppe White (10) and Spotted (45) breeds pigs.
