The aim of the study is to discover the complex dialectics of regional, national and European levels of historical process, to determine the factors of their mutual influence and their particularities, to supplement the historical appearance of development of the region with investigation of little known and new historical problems. The methods of investigation are the biographical, historical and comparative, statistic, methods of shaping of types, of cultural anthropology and gender approach. The regional historical problems and phenomena were studying in the context of development of the whole Ukrainian and word processes: in connection with history of Russian and Ottoman empires, USSR, Bulgaria, Czech Republic etc. It has been revealed out the mutual influence of historical processes of different levels. The main results are the collections of documents and other materials concerning the persons presented the historical science in Odessa. The special attention was paid to social and economical history. It was showed out the significance of regional transit trade at the end of XVIII - ХІХ c. on the background of development of European and national economies. In the field of public organization and political history it was proved the important role of Odessa and the Southern Ukraine in a whole in Ukrainian national movement of XIX-XX c. The prognosis towards the development of the object of the study is following: to discovering of the unique and integrated to Ukrainian and word histories features in the history and historiography of the Southern Ukraine.
