They have certain properties of natural biological membranes. The goal of the study is theoretical investigation of biological macromolecules incorporated into the membranes-biomimetics. The major scientific results of the study are the following: new methodology of determining free energy profiles for permeating ions in the pores of ions channels embedded into the membranes-biomimetics is created based on trajectories of molecular dynamics simulations; the free energy profiles for KcsA potassium channel, which could be used for making membranes-biomimetics selective for potassium ions, are computed. The results are fundamental and could be used in the areas of biophysics and bionanotechnology.
