The efficiency of the use of regression analysis techniques by processing of thermometric results associated with the formation of ingots and castings is showing. It is proposed and tested a method for calculating the parameters of solidification (local rate of cooling and solidification at the crystallization front, temperature pressure, time of stay in the area of two-phase state, the kinetics of solidification, etc.) to assess the extent of the structural zones of solidifying ingot or casting. Accomplished metallographic analysis confirms the high accuracy of the calculated projection length of the structural zones obtained by the developed technique.
