Our results indicate that culture of cardiomyocytes from rats with prenatal omega-3 PUFA application after anoxia-reoxygenation contains more living cells than control group and respectively less number of apoptotic and necrotic cells. It was shown that omega-3 PUFA elevated fatty acid transport protein and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist mRNA expression in adult rats' tissues and isolated cardiomyocytes.
