Object of the research – process of organization and preparation of mechanized (tank) units of Army of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Research aim – development of theoretical grounds of training and evaluation program for mechanized (tank) units in accordance with Armed Forces of Ukraine Training Concept. Method of research – comparative analysis of the guidelines’ requirements referring organization and conduct of mechanized (tank) units’ training and systemic consolidation. Necessity for development of project of training and evaluation program for mechanized (tank) units is caused by the requirements of Armed Forces of Ukraine Training Concept, Provisional Training Manual in Armed Forces of Ukraine, which defined perspective directions of Ukrainian Armed Forces reform. That would enable them to fulfill tasks of protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, participation of designated units as part of multinational military formations, reaching high level of readiness for actions in multinational operations under the aegis of international organizations (UN, NATO, and EU). Reaching of common understanding of aim and actions on training system transformation on all levels of military cooperation is crucial for creation of training and evaluation program of mechanized (tank) units. Combat training is the most important component of the current overall training, which is in the process of transformation. Reduction of the numerical strength of the Armed Forces and policy of neutral status of the state bring necessity for creation of mobile, highly efficient, sustainable army, that would be highly capable of conducting active combat actions in any kind of warfare and armed conflicts that would accomplish tasks of protecting Ukrainian people interests. One of the perspective methods to fulfill this task is improvement of the combat training system of the Army, which means efficient planning of combat training, incorporation of low cost but highly effective forms of tasks accomplishment, enhancement of educational process existing consequence in military training units and preparation of linear units, further incorporation of multilevel system of professional training for commissioned officers and NCOs, employment of simulation and modeling systems and innovative equipment in the training of personnel and units. Process of combat training in Ukrainian Armed Forces is connected to the periods of personnel’s drafts and release and is executed according to training curriculum. In approaches to organization and means of training objectives achievements, changes, which occurred in employment of Armed Forces, are not properly considered. Enhancement of combat training as main instrument of state military potential realization in current economical and political conditions is major priority direction for Ukraine. Training of efficient military professionals is primary task. This can be done only if employing modern means and methods of servicemen training and innovative technical equipment. Current state of the terminological base referring combat support in Ukrainian armed Forces has been analyzed in the paper. Absence of common views concerning terms and definitions of combat training, forms and methods of military education, types of lessons and course of their delivery has been stated. Project of the content of mechanized (tank) units training and evaluation program has been developed in accordance with the telegram from Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Army of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dating 30.06.2010 №116/7/2/7029. List of training combat tasks and list of supplementary tasks, that meet the requirements of guidelines, which are to be executed during training of mechanized) tank units of the Army have been defined.
