The effect produced by the single pulse energy on efficiency of the electrohydropulse treatment of alloys А357 and А390 with 1.5 %Fe is explored. The structure and properties of the alloys improve with increase in single pulse energy to 2 kJ, but the ASTM standard requirements to the alloys are not satisfied. The effect from added Mn to the Fe contaminated alloys is defined. It is determined that in alloys without EHPT full conversion of harmful needle-shaped Fe-phases into the favorable compact phases is provided by the relation Mn:Fe = 0.7, and in the EHPT treated alloys this relation makes Mn:Fe = 0.3, which allows for master alloy saving. Record-breaking high properties of the alloy А357 (ultimate strength 177 MPa and elongation 16 %) are attained after modification by the 2% complex master alloy Al-5Ti-1B and the subsequent electrohydropulse treatment. Record-breaking high properties of alloy А390 (ultimate strength 209 MPa and elongation 1.2 %) are attained after adding of 0.07 % Р in the melt and the subsequent electrohydropulse treatment. The equipment of model UV14K for the treatment of the 400 kg melt is delivered to the Client and passed the performance tests in 5 furnaces. A series of pilot "suspension" parts is molded.
