The shift is connected with Kerr effect and free electrons heated as a result of multi photon transitions in a dielectric matrix surrounding metal nanoparticles. Holographic organic-nonorganic nanocomposites based upon TiO2, ZrO2 and SiO2 nanoparticles were developed. Effective periodic structures have been synthesized using these composites. Distributed feedback lasers with the tuned oscillation frequency have been created on the basis of these structures. High third order nonlinear response has been observed in an epoxy-based polymer modified by azo-dye with the time response in the wide range from nanoseconds to hours. The nature of the nonlinearity has been determined. Effective scalar and vector holograms were shown to be recorded in this material. Effects of carbon nanotubes aggregation in a nematic liquid crystal and their influence on the light scattering character were studied. Large number of two dimensional gratings with different periods, symmetry and fill factor were realized in the system of dipole and quadruple particles which is perspective for the application in photonics. New photorefractive crystals CdHgMnTe doped with V sensitive in IR spectrum range (0,9-1,8 m) were synthesized and studied. These crystals are perspective for adaptive sensors, not cooled near IR photo detectors, laser vibrometers. Pyroelectric laser pulse energy meters were developed. The studies and developments carried out in the framework of this project are contemporary leading edge investigations giving new important results with perspective practical applications.
