Museum (zoological) materials, collected in different times and in different regions, are the unique physical carriers of data, which allow to do conclusion about the changes of the state of ecosystem not only in space but also in time. It means that the analysis of these materials allowed to estimate not only the modern state of variety of ecosystem but also complemented him a retrospective constituent. It makes it able to find out tendencies in the change of environment and substantially to promote reliability of prognostication. Therefore the basic attention was spared to the search of such standards, which after the high-quality and quantitative descriptions would engulf the states of ecosystem in maximally long periods of their existence. The new direction of research of the state of ecosystem, the museum biomonitoring was founded. Expedience of the use of the list of rare and vanishing kinds is set as indicators, as most sensible to anthropogenic influence. Previous results allowed to find out species and selections of such vertebrates, which potentially can be used in quality the biomarkers of the state of ecosystems. The databases - collections of the Zoological museum of NNPM of NAN of Ukraine, herpetological laboratory of NDI of Biovariety at Melitopol University and some other establishments were analyzed. More than 202000 records were processed: certain amount (10198 specimens) and places of locality (840) of individuals. The research of intraspecific morphological changeability of some model types of vertebrates, collected at the end of XIX, - beginning of XX century compared to items that were obtained at the beginning of XXI century was set.
