Among the tasks of the project were: forming of a spring base after the main directions of the research: a documentary reconstruction of the ethnic Ukrainian history and Siberia history; stydying the process of a cross-cultural communication represented in different sources due to the concrete facts; an exposure of participation of Ukrainians in the different forms of public life of Siberia in the XIXth century; a reflection of character of Ukraine and Ukrainians in the sources. The scientific group began their work "Ukraine and Siberia in historical and artistic discourse" in 2009. The main line of the process was "The analysis of socio and cultural processes of Siberia, their sources and dynamics from the middle of the XIXth - the end of the XXth century". The participants investigated a question about migration of Ukrainians to Siberia and her echo in Ukrainian literature and publicism, worked in archives, libraries, made bibliographies: "Migration of Ukrainians to Siberia", "Reflection of Siberia in Ukrainian literature", "Topos of Siberia - realistic and symbolic - in texts of the new Ukrainian literature". The book "Dokument, muzejnyj jeksponat, narrativ, pis'mennyj istochnik v kul'turnom transfere Sibir' - Ukraina: Materialy Vserossijskoj nauchnoj konferencii s mezhdunarodnym uchastiem, 21-24 nojabrja 2010 g., Tomsk / Pod red.
